[...] Grandpa (her husband) passed away, I was comforted most as I thought about the profound hope of the resurrection. For Grandma, I think about that, too — but am mostly just so glad she’s been welcomed [...]

From Hebrews 5 we have this excerpt: " 11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil."

There are times when a small group has to get beyond the 'milk' and get to the 'meat' of Christ.

The same in other human relations, with some folks we can dig deeper, and with others, we stay on the surface.

One analog that I've heard is that we are like icebergs - only a small portion is above the ocean waves, the bulk is under the water - and we can only see that small part that is exposed (and ... likewise, we only show others the small part that is above the waves).
